Are you ready for Ramadan sisters? Do not miss out on Sister Fatima’s 30 Day Ramadan Challenge to get yourself prepared for the blessed month. Make this Ramadan your best one ever!
1) What is the inspiration behind your blog?
The inspiration behind my blog was actually my life – specifically being able to get my life organised and more fulfilling – and I thought how great it would be if I can help other women do that too! Women, especially working mothers, are constantly pulled in many directions and I want to help them realise that we can’t always do it all, but we can certainly try our very best.
2) How long have you been blogging?
I started slowly getting into blogging a year ago but have taken it a lot more seriously in the last 6 months.
3) What are some of the areas you like to focus on in your writings?
I am all about offering women valuable tips that they can apply in their everyday lives. My current focus is organization, as well as encouraging women to value their efforts and time.
4) Tell us more about the 30-day Ramadan Challenge.
The 30-day get Ramadan ready challenge came about when I started thinking about planning for this holy month – and I thought wouldn’t it be great to help other women get Ramadan ready as well by sharing daily tasks and tips to organise their homes, work systems, and mindset? InshaAllah the challenge will help sisters have more time for Ibadah during Ramadan and help them introduce new approaches to their daily lives that they can use post-Ramadan.
5) How would you encourage busy women to prepare for Ramadan?
I am big on planning, so I highly recommend taking the time to plan your entire Ramadan experience. This includes planning in advance your Suhoor and Iftar dinner menu, your Iftar invitations, your ideal time to read the Quran, your best time to be productive at work (if you’re still working then), your spiritual and life goals, and importantly your mindset. I encourage sisters to have the intention to experience self-growth during Ramadan which can come inshaAllah by reflecting on the Quran, abstaining from the unlawful, and having patience.
6) What is your greatest source of inspiration when facing a writer’s block?
Whenever I get writer’s block, I find that taking a break is my best inspiration because it gives me a chance to clear my mind and then whatever starts to flow back returns as a fresh new perspective. If I am already writing something and; I get writers block I always go back to what I intend for the reader to get out of this particular piece and this usually helps me start writing again.
7) How have you benefitted from blogging?
Blogging has actually been a great blessing because it has really allowed me to express myself creatively (where possible) but also it gives me a chance to reflect on what I am experiencing or have experienced, which I can then share with my readers. It has also been a wonderful way to interact with other people and learn from them because it helps me break the ice by using the blog as a talking point.
8) What are some of Fatima’s passions and goals?
My biggest passion at the moment is living with purpose, which to me means finding meaning in every situation. So this could be something as small as a simple thank you or helping somebody across the globe that you have never met. I have many goals but at the moment, it is to encourage women to take more action in their lives, which means helping them plan how to be in control of the many demanding areas of their lives so that they can achieve more everyday inshaAllah.
9) How do you enjoy spending your free time?
Alhamdulillah I have three wonderful children who keep me very busy and I love spending time with them and my husband. When I do get time for myself I love to read (mainly online these days), do yoga or think of new creative ways to organise something around my home.
10) What future plans do you have for your blog?
I am full of ideas at the moment though not ready to tell all! I do want to continue to provide value to my readers by sharing tips they can use and then possibly introduce online courses where they can learn visually. My online shop will also be launching very soon to accompany all the tips I share so that my readers have all the resources they need at their fingertips.
11) Anything else interesting you would like to share?
Absolutely! I want to take this moment to encourage all women out there to understand they are more than capable of living wonderful, fulfilling lives. All it requires (in my experience) is for you to take the first step in recognising what kind of life you want for yourself and taking the additional steps you need to get there inshaAllah … And if you don’t know where to start on this path, please contact me, I’d love to help you if I can.
